• Victoria Camille (Millie) Westmont presented her research "Round, Ground, and Stone:  Identifying Morphological and Functional Variation with Fort Ancient Groundstone Discoids" at the prestigious 10th Anniversary Posters-at-the-Capitol in February, at the 28th Annual Kentucky Heritage Council Archaeology Conference, Natural Bridge State Park in March, and has shown it at the Undergraduate Showcase of Scholars with mentors  A. Gwynn Henderson and David Pollack. . Westmont was also awarded a $2,000 University of Kentucky Undergraduate Summer Research and Creativity Grant for research this summer of 2011 for her project entitled "Identifying and Analyzing the Use of Space in Ancient Mayan House mounds in Kancab, Yucatan, Mexico" under her mentor, Scott Hutson.

• Arlis Johnson was awarded a $2,000 University of Kentucky Undergraduate Summer Research and Creativity Grant for research this summer of 2011 for his project entitled "Using Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) to Determine Construction and Destruction [Dates] of Megalithic Sites and Rockshelter Roof Collapse." Johnson's mentor is Richard Jefferies.

• Jacob Welch was awarded a $2,000 University of Kentucky Undergraduate Summer Research and Creativity Grant for research this summer of 2011 for his project entitled "Measuring Maya Politics:  Demographic Research on Ancient Community Relations," mentored by Scott Hutson.

• A. Gwynn Henderson and David Pollack were awarded the Faculty Mentor of the Year awards.
